Here Comes The Sun!

We are pleased to announce that, with our recent sale of our Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs), we have reached the million dollar mark in revenue generated by our solar program. This is an amazing accomplishment when you think that today’s sale of SRECs occurred on the one year anniversary of our first sale last year. (That means $1,000,000 in one year!) We want to thank all of you for your initial support of our solar project when we went out for the referendum. We still remain the only district in the state to have such an extensive array of solar panels on every one of our schools. When we finish our final installations later on this year, we will have filled up every suitable inch of rooftop space. Kudos also go to our Board of Education and Tom Eldridge for their foresight in this project which is but one example of why we are able to craft an effective 2011-2012 budget that is less than last year.
